Central House was originally built as a sole occupier building in the 1970s as the North East regional headquarters of the Central Electricity Generating Board. Following its purchase by CEG in 1999, it was reconfigured to be suitable for multi-tenant layout and now comprises 170,000 sq ft of office space over three floors.
The building has undergone a £4m refurbishment to create a stunning upgraded CAT A workplace for the 1,000 people that work there, with improved common areas, redeveloped courtyard, new café, meeting rooms and breakout spaces. It is powered by 100% renewable energy and 100% of waste is diverted from landfill.
