The award winning historic Camelia House at Wentworth Woodhouse opened it’s doors as a tea room earlier this month, following a major £5m restoration.

The Grade II listed building, home to some of the oldest and rarest Camelia’s in the world, was on the Heritage At Risk Register having lain derelict for over five decades!

The preservation of the camellias was paramount, which made for a very challenging project, but the end result surpasses all expectations.

You can read more about the project in The Guardian.

Services provided: Quantity Surveying

We’ve been working with hotel operator Avantis Hotels Limited on the refurbishment of its first Tapestry by Hilton, Hotel.

The project sees the conversion of existing meeting rooms into two high quality hotel guest suites, as well as front of house and stairwell refurbishment works.

Located in St. Albans, the hotel is steeped in history, being a grade II listed property. The converted meeting rooms (Ryder Suite) also have key historical significance, being the former bedroom of Samuel Ryder, a well-known English businessman who golf fans will know played a key role in the formation of the Ryder Cup Golf Event!

Services: Contract Administration and CDM 2015 Principal Designer

Work has commenced onsite at the Sir William Borlase’s Grammar School, Marlow on the removal of 300mRAAC from the gymnasium roof.
