Project Update: Breaking Ground at Foss Island

Foss Island, our latest student accommodation development in York has broken ground, following a great team effort to reach this point!

The £17m, 5-storey PBSA scheme is due to complete in 2026 and will deliver 133 high-end studios with an array of well-being amenities including:
📚 co-working study spaces
🏋 indoor and outdoor fitness areas
🎥 cinema room
🙌 multi-functional social areas
🌳 landscaped outdoor space

Located on the edge of the city centre and equidistant from both the University of York and York St John, the scheme will help to address York’s PBSA shortage.

Commenting on the milestone Project Director, Jack Proctor, said:

“It’s incredibly rewarding on a personal level to see this project finally reach site after years of hard work, setbacks, and a couple of failed planning attempts to top it all off.  It’s not been the most straightforward of sites, but progress on site has been strong so far – long may that continue!  It’s a privilege to be working alongside the rest of the team and delivering this scheme for Urbium Capital and Gregory Property Group.”
