SUPPORTING BRADFORD CITY OF CULTURE
2025 sees Bradford as the new UK City of Culture and as a business founded in Yorkshire, and with an office in Bradford, it only seems right to show our support and highlight some of the incredible projects we have been involved in across this diverse city.
Having worked for many years with Bradford Metropolitan District Council and West Yorkshire Combined Authority, as well as many Bradford based organisations from the University of Bradford to Morrisons Supermarkets, we’ve been involved in an array of developments.
Here we share a snapshot of some of our most recent projects from across the Bradford district:
Bradford Interchange is the city’s major transport hub comprising of both a rail and a bus station. Constructed in the 1970’s the complex was reaching the end of its lifespan and required a major improvement programme. Acting as PM, QS and NEC Supervisor, the works include the structural repair, including removal and re-installation of the waterproofing system to the upper concrete deck, and resurfacing of the bus station carriageway, along with the re-development of the entrance and forecourt, with the creation of a pedestrianised plaza of the main entrance.
Darley St. Market is a £27m three storey, state-of-the-art market hall which will feature a variety of stalls and food outlets, as well as a public events space. The new development will play host to City of Culture events throughout the year and is a key part of the ongoing regeneration of the city centre. Working with Bradford MDC we provided advice on party wall matters.
Bradford Crematoria Upgrade Programme involves the construction of two new crematoria, along with the refurbishment of a third. After completing existing site appraisals and feasibility assessments we were selected as Lead Consultant responsible for the appointment and management of the design team and all associated service providers. Providing QS and PM services the programme sees the successful delivery of state-of-the-art facilities, which are highly energy efficient, and designed to accommodate the needs of the different faiths that live in this diverse city.
Bradford Grammar School – We’ve worked with the school for many years and our most recent project saw the development of a new build early years centre, which included two new classrooms and an outdoor play area. This follows on from earlier projects including a new build science block and learning link, and the re-development of the library.
Bradford City Football Club – Following the devastating fire in 1985, we were involved in the re-development of the ground. Since then, we have completed further ground improvements and continue to undertake annual condition surveys, preparing the schedule of planned maintenance works which take place during the closed season. All inspections are undertaken in line with the Green Guide for Safety at Sports Grounds.
